Father Long Before Creation

F. Jones | W. H. Monk | A. Osenga

Father, long before creation
Thou hadst chosen us in love
And that love so deep, so moving
Draws us close to Christ above
Still it keeps us, still it keeps us
Firmly fixed in Christ alone

Though the world may change its fashion
Yet our God is e’er the same
His compassion and His covenant
Through all ages will remain
God’s own children, God’s own children
Must forever praise His name

God’s compassion is my story
Is my boasting all the day
Mercy free and never failing
Moves my will, directs my way
God so loved us, God so loved us
That His only Son He gave

Loving Father now before Thee
We will ever praise Thy love
And our songs will sound unceasing
‘Til we reach our home above
Giving glory, giving glory
To our God and to the Lamb
Giving glory, giving glory
To our God and to the Lamb

God Cleanses Us

Before The Throne Of God Above

V. Cook | C.L. Bancroft

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea
A great High Priest whose name is Love
Who ever lives and pleads for me
My name is graven on His hands
My name is written on His heart
I know that while in heaven He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart

When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free
For God the Just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me

Behold Him there the Risen Lamb
My perfect spotless righteousness
The great unchangeable I Am
The King of glory and of grace
One with Himself, I cannot die
My soul is purchased by His blood
My life is hid with Christ on high
With Christ my Savior and my God
With Christ my Savior and my God

One with Himself, I cannot die
My soul is purchased by His blood
My life is hid with Christ on high
With Christ my Savior and my God
With Christ my Savior and my God

The Church’s One Foundation

S. Stone | B. Moss

The church’s one foundation
Is Jesus Christ her Lord
She is His new creation
By water and the Word
From heav’n He came and sought her
To be His holy bride
With His own blood He bought her
And for her life He died

Elect from every nation
Yet one o’er all the earth
Her charter of salvation
One Lord, one faith, one birth
One holy name she blesses
Partakes one holy food
And to one hope she presses
With every grace endued

Mid toil and tribulation
And tumult of her war,
She waits the consummation
Of peace forevermore;
’Til, with the vision glorious
Her longing eyes are blessed
And the great church victorious
Shall be the church at rest

Yet she on earth hath union
With God the Three in One,
And mystic sweet communion
With those whose rest is won
O happy ones and holy!
Lord, give us grace that we
Like them, the meek and lowly
On high may dwell with Thee

Song of Preparation
New Redemption Song

L. Detweiler

Lord, we need
Anew redemption song
Lord, we’ve tried
It just seems to come out wrong
Won’t You help us please
Help us just to sing along
A new redemption song
Anew redemption song

Lord, we need
Anew redemption day
All our worries
Keep getting in the way
Won’t You help us please
Help us find the words to pray
To bring redemption day
To bring redemption day

Lord, we need
A new redemption song
Lord, we’ve tried
It just seems to come out wrong
Won’t You help us please
Help us just to sing along
A new redemption song
A new redemption song

“Repetition, Reminders and Requests (Re: Redemption)”

Sermon Outline

God Blesses Us and Sends Us Out

Prayer for Healing and Unity

Leader: O God of all creation, we are grieved by the divisions in our world. Just as the Coronavirus has caused physical distance, so we also see distance and hatred between neighbors around the world.
People: We pray for our world, and we pray you would bring unity and healing by your gospel. Grant to us hearts to consider others more significant than ourselves.
Silence.
Leader: O God of all nations, we are grieved by the divisions in our nation. We particularly pray for the racial and political divides which seem to grow day after day.
People: We pray for the healing of our nation. Grant us, your people, the power that we need to be gracious, do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our God.
Silence.
Leader: Oh God of your church, we are grieved by the divisions within our very own church. Just as you prayed for your people to be one, we pray that Uptown Church would experience true unity in Jesus.
People: We pray for the healing of our church. Move within us to pursue unity and healing through hearts that are quick to repent, forgive and restore.
Silence.
Leader: Father, we pray for healing and unity, in Jesus name, Amen.

Song of Response
Faithful To The End

 B. Johnson | H. McClure | J. Taylor | P. McClure

We’re heaven-spun creations
His pride and adoration
Treasures woven by His love
His careful hands they hold us
Safe within His promise
Of calling and of destiny

chorus

And I will sing of
All You’ve done
And I’ll remember
How far You’ve carried me

From beginning until the end
You are faithful
Faithful to the end

A Father’s heart that’s for me
A never ending story
Of love that’s always chasing me
His kindness overwhelming
And hope for me unending
He’s never given up on me

chorus

And I will sing of
All You’ve done
And I’ll remember
How far You’ve carried me

From beginning until the end
You are faithful
Faithful to the end

There wasn’t a day that You weren’t by our side
There wasn’t a day that You let us fall
In all of our lives Your love has been true
With all of our lives we will worship You
