Upcoming Adult Sunday School Classes

We are excited about our upcoming Jan/Feb 2019 Adult Ed Sunday School Classes. We have a lot of exciting classes that will help our members and visitors grow stronger in their faith, more assured in a Christian world and life view, more connected to other members of the church, and more passionate about our Lord, Jesus Christ.

The following list is subject to change, especially the titles, of course, but it should give you an idea of what is coming up.

Bad Christian Books: Sifting Truth from Error in Popular Christian Authors

Teachers: Mike Kruger and Others

We live in an age that has enjoyed an explosion in Christian publishing.  And while many of these books are good, that is not true for all of them.  This class will examine some of the most problematic Christian books in recent years, so we can learn to distinguish truth from error. Examples include, Love Wins (Rob Bell), Girl Wash Your Face (Rachel Hollis), Irresistible (Andy Stanley), The Bible Tells Me So (Peter Enns), Your Best Life Now (Joel Osteen), A Year of Biblical Womanhood (Rachel Held Evans), and more.

The Great I AM

Teachers: Forde Britt, Mark Skylling, Bryan Zumbach, and Chris Van Roekel

The Great I AM…Jesus? Jesus uses seven “I AM” statements in the book of John, a name God uses for himself in the Old Testament. What is the significance of these statements? How do they impact the identity of Jesus? We will explore what Jesus is saying in these statements and the multitude of implications that follow.
