Thank You Meghan!

May 31st was Meghan Newman’s last day working as the Office Manager at Uptown Church. From the moment we hired her in December of 2013 we knew that this day would come. We were hiring the wife of a seminary student; a seminary student that would one day graduate and hopefully get a call, likely a call outside of Charlotte. So, from the day we offered her the job we knew this day would come, but that didn’t make it any easier.

Meghan Goodbye

Meghan hates attention and abhors the spotlight, so I will try to keep this brief. In short, Meghan was an excellent Office Manager. Her faithful service was consistently marked with a rare pairing of amazing administrative abilities and a very warm personality. She knew how to Take Care of Business (#TCB) and keep us in line, while cheering us on and doing all she could to help us enjoy serving the Lord. Uptown is a better church because Meghan served as our office manager.

At her small going away lunch the staff gave Meghan a small gift, an advanced copy of one of her favorite chef’s cookbooks. When we gave her the gift we told her that we hoped that she would not forget us in North Carolina (The Cookbook is from a chef in Eastern North Carolina), and we also shared that we would be praying for her as she transitioned to staying home to care for her family. Meghan, we are sure you are going to miss laughing with Christy, listening to Jeremy’s music and asking Wes for his expense reports. However, we do hope that you enjoy this next season of life, and we trust the Lord will continue to use you in great ways. Thank you so much for your faithful service.

Oh and by the way I think Andrew and Meghan we signed up to serve in absolutely every ministry area possible, so we are now looking to fill 29 more volunteer slots. Thank you both for your faithful service at Uptown.

***What’s with the hat in the pictures you ask? That was a personal gift from our wonderful new office manager Julia King. Why a sun hat? Because next month Andrew and Meghan move to the sunny shores of Tampa Florida for Andrew to serve as the RUF Pastor at University of Southern Florida. We are praying for God to bless your ministry!
