Freedom: The Reward of Discipline
3rd Floor Boardroom
Women of Uptown, please join us for this two-month Sunday School on the basic spiritual disciplines of the Christian faith. The freedom to grow in godliness - to naturally express Christ's character through your own personality - is in large part dependent on a deliberate cultivation of the spiritual disciplines. Far from being legalistic, restrictive, or binding, as they are often perceived, the spiritual disciplines are actually the means to unparalleled spiritual liberty. Come and join us as we discuss topics such as Scripture reading, prayer, serving, evangelism and journaling using Donald Whitney's book, "Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life."

God is Sovereign: A Study in Daniel
Resource Center
When reading and studying the Prophets, many of us can relate to Daniel who said "my thoughts greatly alarmed me, and my color changed..." (Dan 7:28). Christians often find it difficult to make sense of what they find in Daniel: Handwriting on the wall, angels, symbolic numbers, and even visions of strange beasts coming out of the sea. In this study of the book of Daniel, we will take a biblical approach that will provide clarity and understanding. We will encounter history, prophesy and apocalypse all connecting to hope in the sovereignty of God even in the midst of severe persecution of God's people. Join us as we see how God is always faithful to His covenant people.

How Firm A Foundation: Grasping the Core Truths and Disciplines of the Christian Faith
3rd Floor Boardroom
Are you interested in growing in your walk with Christ? Hebrews 5:14 states, "...solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil," revealing that the Christian life requires us to develop both our minds and our life patterns as we pursue conformity to Christ. In this class, aimed at new believers, young believers, and battle-tested believers in need of refreshment, we will examine core teachings of Christianity such as Scripture, God's promises to his people, Christ's work on the cross, and the power of the Holy Spirit. We will also explore various disciplines of the faith, such as studying God's word, prayer, worship, and serving the church, that enable us by "constant practice" to develop and apply our "powers of discernment."
