Sunday Morning Worship Schedule

Current Sermon Series:

Leviticus: Help Towards Holiness

Leviticus is a book of laws, regulations and bloody sacrifices that may seem strange to a modern Christian. But it is a book whose purpose is very familiar: it shows the believer how to live in relationship to a holy God. Its laws and regulations then are meant to show the believer, whose life is still very unholy, how to live at peace with a holy God. As such it lays the foundation for understanding what God wants of New Testament believers in terms of living a holy life in relationship to him and how our holidness comes by the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Kingdom Living in a Fallen World:
A Study of the Sermon on the Mount

Teachers: Bill Macurda and Dave Latham
Time: 9:15 AM
Location: Boardroom

The Sermon on the Mount is one of the most well-known passages in the Bible and phrases like "do to others what you would have them do to you" have become common even in secular culture. So what does the Bible say about the nature of Christian character? What does it mean to live "a redeemed life" in a fallen world? In this 9 week class, we will explore Jesus' teaching on the nature of the Kingdom of God and discuss how it impacts the way we live today.

Christianity and The Arts:
Redeeming Imagination To Impact The World

Teachers: Shane Martin and Tyler Dirks
Time: 10:30 AM
Location: Boardroom

What do Bach, Handel and Rembrandt all have in common? Why were these men able to have an impact not only in the church but secular culture as well? Aside from being Christians, they believed their talent carried a great responsibility to impact the world for the glory of God. Why has the table turned? Why do the arts find more of a home in liberalism and humanism instead of in the church? Francis Schaeffer once said, "the Christian is the one whose imagination should fly beyond the stars", but sadly there has been a sharp decline in the importance and cultivation of the arts in the evangelical community over the past century. We will be discussing why this is happening and study the philosophical, theological and biblical weight of the arts. Please join us for this very important class.

Understanding Islam and Muslims in the 21st Century

Teacher: Phil Parshall- Phil has served as a missionary among Muslims in Bangladesh and the
Philippines for the past 44 years.
Time: 10:30 AM
Location: Resource Center

In the 90’s Harvard professor Samuel Huntington predicted an upcoming “Clash of Civilizations” between Islam and the West. From 9/11 onward it has unfolded before our eyes. What is the historical background to cause such animosity? What are the flashpoints in present, as well as those likely to occur in the future? This class will seek to explore the issues on both sides of the divide.
