Give Us A King

SERMON SERIES
JANUARY – JULY 2015

Who will lead us?

In every age and generation God’s people have longed for a good leader. One who would courageously lead them to victory during times of conflict; one who would carefully lead them to green pastures during times of peace; a shepherd as much as a warrior. Their search fraught with difficulty and disappointment, Israel’s unfulfilled desires echoed down generations through Saul, David and many other kings of varying faithfulness. The book of 1 Samuel vividly depicts this tension which can only be finally resolved in Christ who leads his church today as the Good King.
