History of Our Church

The birthdate for the Presbyterian Church in America was December 4, 1973, and October 9, 1994, is the birthdate for Uptown Church. We recognize that our spiritual heritage goes all the way back to year one – the year of our Lord’s first coming to establish His church. We came into existence because we felt the need for a strongly Scriptural, evangelical, and Reformed witness to Christ. We wanted to be part of a denomination which honors God and His word. We desired a fellowship of believers who are committed to evangelism and Christian education as the primary mission of the Church. We felt that ministers and church officers should affirm without compromise the great Biblical beliefs of Christianity.
